Job Description

Currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow in the Biomedical Technology Laboratory within the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS (IRFMN). The hosting organization is in Ranica, Bergamo, in Northern Italy. The successful applicant must have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics or similar.

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated to work in an interdisciplinary environment at the interface between biological aspects such as the interaction of blood-flow and endothelial cells and numerical simulation of patient-specific turbulent flow.

The experienced researcher must be skilled in numerical modelling of turbulent flow. Applicant should have solid background and working knowledge of numerical simulations for turbulent flow problems (LES), setting-up of large-scale CFD simulations, post-processing and data analysis of big amount of data.


Regulation Aspects

The Marie Curie Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF) scheme is a prestigious European funding programme that supports mobility, career development, and training within and beyond Europe. The scheme offers a competitive salary and research costs.

MSCA-IF will involve a joint application between the experienced researcher and IRFMN acting as host organization (beneficiary). We are interested in experienced researchers (i.e., PhD degree or at least 4 years full time research experience) available to move to Bergamo, Northern Italy from another EU country. The research action is for 24 months. The experienced researcher will receive monthly living, mobility and family (if transferred in Italy) allowances.
