by the Science and Technology Policy Council
that was introduced by an act of parliament in 2003.
The Council is headed by the Prime Minister and
includes also the Minister of Education and Science,
Minister of Industry, Minister for Finance and two other
government ministers as occasional members. The
Council also includes 14 appointees representing the

of Education, Science and Culture appoints a sub-committee
on science and the Minister of Industry and Trade appoints
